For all you bird watchers out there, Swiss Woods Bed and Breakfast is the perfect spot to access some of the best birding in Lancaster County. Every year 10’s of Thousands of Snow Geese and Tundra Swans migrate through the northern end of the county and stop at Middle Creek Wildlife Preserve whose website has the migration dates listed.. Many stay here at the lake as well during February and March. All year we are home to several hundred different species of birds being fortunate to have both waterfowl, meadowland, swamp, and forest. Bluebirds are nesting, Cardinals have raised a brood, Baltimore Orioles and Summer Tangers are both here and guests have spotted several Pileated Woodpeckers in the woods.
2013: We have seen the black mink at the back stream, a goodly amount of Pileated Woodpeckers, Bard Owls, Great Horned owls, flying squirrels and even a beaver.
2018: Indigo buntings, loads of bluebirds, tangers and of course the baltimore orioles and woodpeckers.

A short 25 minutes into Hershey this small but beautiful garden is worth a stop. Visiting during rose season is especially beautiful.
